Rooted in tradition, growing with innovation
Zen Island Retreat is the natural evolution of our personal and professional paths, a reflection of who we are and where we come from. We were born and raised in Sardinia, where nature is not a backdrop but a presence that shapes every breath and every step. Growing up between the sea and mountain, we learned early the value of simplicity, presence and connection. Years later, as certified Yoga and Pilates instructors, we found ourselves called to create something more than classes - a space for transformation. A place where movement meets meaning, and where modern practices can coexist with ancient rhythms. This retreat is our way of honouring our roots while growing forward. A shared vision shaped by friendship, inspired by our homeland and created with intention for you to reconnect, realign and rise.
Originally from Sardinia and now based in Ireland, Veronica is the cofounder of Zen Island Retreat — a project born from the desire to reconnect with her roots and share the healing rhythm of her homeland. She is a qualified midwife in one of Ireland’s busiest maternity hospitals, and holds a Master’s degree in pelvic floor rehabilitation. Her work in such a high-intensity environment has deepened her understanding of the body, resilience, and the need for balance on all levels. A certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, Veronica is also trained in prenatal and postnatal yoga and Hypnobirthing. Her teaching blends clinical insight with breath-led, intentional movement — with a strong focus on alignment, pelvic floor awareness, and long-term wellbeing. With empathy and attention to detail, she creates safe, supportive spaces where each student feels empowered to move mindfully, build strength, and connect deeply to their body — on and off the mat.
Federica has always been passionate about movement and the human body. Growing up in Sardinia, she developed a love for sports, especially beach volleyball, which inspired her to pursue a career in Physiotherapy. Now based in London, Federica is a qualified Physiotherapist with experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and injury prevention. She holds certifications in Mat and Reformer Pilates from the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute), and integrates her physiotherapy background into dynamic yet accessible 1:1 and group sessions. Federica is the cofounder of Zen Island Retreat, a project that brings together her professional skills and her deep connection to the rhythms of her homeland. Federica combines her expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation with a preventative approach rooted in Pilates. She offers a safe and supportive environment for participants dealing with past or current injuries, providing targeted sessions that aim not only to rehabilitate but also to prevent future issues.
